About the River Place Plaza
The River Place Plaza is an open-air stage and gathering place along the Cedar River in the lively Cedar Falls Downtown District.
Designed to bring people together, the Plaza exists to strengthen community—creating a space where neighbors become friends, local talent finds a stage, and the simple moments that shape our community unfold.
Our Story
River Place Plaza was envisioned as the heart of the River Place neighborhood—a central gathering place designed to bring people together. Developed by local real estate company Eagle View Partners, the Plaza is the culmination of a long-term vision to create a vibrant, connected community in downtown Cedar Falls.
Once an industrial site, the location of River Place Plaza carried a legacy that ultimately led to its designation as a Brownfield site. Through significant private investment and public TIF funds, that former use has been transformed into a vibrant community asset—now serving as a welcoming public space at the center of downtown Cedar Falls.
The Plaza is proudly owned by the River Place Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit made up of the property owners in the River Place neighborhood. The Plaza is programmed by Eagle View Hospitality, in partnership with local organizations, businesses, and volunteers who believe in our mission: to promote quality of life through live music, arts, culture, recreation and community at the River Place Plaza.
